ABOUT
Preparing for retirement, I was looking for an outlet for long-ignored artistic inclinations. After trying several painting media, I chose watercolours and pursued this decision with courses, mentorship, self-learning and lots of practice. I was fascinated with how the watercolour’s medium captures the light, reflections and shadows in painting. Watercolours are like magic for me; the possibilities are endless.
I now have the pleasure of painting on a more regular basis and being able to further develop my art by discovering and applying new techniques. I challenge myself by trying themes and subjects that take me outside of my comfort zone. So far, I have not yet set my style but lean towards realism and enjoy a variety of subjects: portrait, landscape, still life, etc. I have not yet tried abstract. As my portfolio evolves, more exhibitions of my work will be added to my journey. I display my work at commercial and non-commercial venues. As opportunity arise, I participate to juried shows. I am a member of Arteast Ottawa, Canadian Society Of Painters In Water Colour and Art in Carleton Place.
